Description

Giovedi 18 maggio alle 16 in aula multimediale, il dr. Michele Gallinaro (IIP) terra’ un seminario dal titolo:
"Latest results about BSM physics in the Higgs scalar sector and beyond”

Abstract:
The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations opens a new era for particle physics. The characterization of that particle, the comparison of its measured properties to theory predictions, and the search for non-standard-model effects involving the phenomenology are now the highest priority of the LHC experiments.
With the large sample of proton-proton collisions produced by the LHC at Cern and recorded so far, the ATLAS and CMS collaborations have been exploring previously uncharted territories at the TeV energy scale.
In this seminar, an overview of searches for additional Higgs bosons -light or heavy, neutral or charged- focusing particularly on scenarios beyond the standard model is presented. The current results and the perspective for the High-Luminosity LHC program are discussed.
