A number of new and interesting results in hadronic physics and Quantum Chromodynamics, both experimental and theoretical, are expected in the near future. The first results from the Brookhaven RHIC machine, together with new data from CERN, will give deeper insights in the problem of the Quark-Gluon Plasma and on the fascinating issue of the QCD phase diagram. Results on both polarized and unpolarized structure functions will test refined theoretical perturbative QCD predictions. Moreover, measurements from the B-factories will challenge our theoretical undestanding of the interplay between weak and strong interactions. Finally, several aspects of non perturbative QCD will be certainly investigated and hopefully clarified in the next few months.
In order to discuss all these aspects, an International Workshop on QCD has been organized in Martina Franca (Italy), a wonderful resort in the area of Valle d'Itria (Apulia), from 16th through 20th June 2001. The workshop will be held in the Sala dell'Arcadia of Palazzo Ducale.
Topical Outline:
Activities:
The preliminary list of speakers includes: F. Buccella (Napoli), R. Casalbuoni (Florence), A. Deandrea (Lyon), E. de Rafael (Marseille), S. Forte (Rome), U. Heinz (CERN), F. Karsch (Bielefeld), A. Khodjamirian (Lund), H. Leutwyler (Bern), G. Martinelli (Rome), P. Nason ( Milano), M. Neubert (Cornell U.)*, T.N. Pham (Paris), K. Rajagopal (MIT)*, K. Rith (Erlangen), A. De Roeck (DESY and CERN), R. Stock (Frankfurt)....
(*) Tentative yes
Because of limitations in accommodation and to fulfill the workshop requirements, attendance is limited to about 70 participants.
The deadline for registration is May 15th, 2001. Participants who want to contribute to the Workshop are invited to submit an abstract before April 15th, 2001. The Workshop Organization will notify before May 1st if the abstract has been accepted as a contributed talk. It is also possible to contribute to the poster session. Invited and contributed talks, as well as posters will be published in the Proceedings of the Workshop.
A few scholarships for young researchers will be available. The interested participants are invited to contact the Workshop Organization.
FEE:
The Workshop fee is 220.000 Itl (113.62 Euro) if paid before May 15th, 2001, and 330.000 Itl (170.43 Euro) if paid after May 15th, 2001. That includes proceedings costs, coffee breaks and social events. The fee must be paid to the account:
