Superfluidity in ultracold atomic gases - Seminario Prof. Stringari

Thanks to the modern methods of magnetic and optical trapping and the manipulation of the interatomic forces it is now possible to explore a large variety of dynamic and superfluid phenomena in ultracold atomic gases.

In this talk I will present an overview of major theoretical and experimental achievements concerning the superfluid behavior of these systems.

These include the nature of quantized vortices, the quenching of the moment of inertia, the absence of viscosity, the collective oscillations of irrotational nature, and the propagation of first and second sound.
