Overview of ALICE results

In this talk, an overview of the recent ALICE results  in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC will be presented. The focus will be on the measurements of high-momentum particles, jets, heavy  flavour, and quarkonia. Their role in the characterization of the medium created in Pb-Pb collisions  will be discussed. Special emphasis will also be given on the results from p-Pb collisions,  which provide further insight into the initial and final state effects  observed in heavy-ion collisions.
