Exploring the QCD phase diagram by a chiral chemical potential

I discuss the phase structure of QCD with a chiral chemical potential, which represents a sign-free theory whose interest is related both to the phenomenology of heavy ion collisions
(mainly to the chiral magnetic effect) and to the theory (mainly, to the possibility of performing simulations of grand canonical ensembles).
