A new result on the direct CP violation in two pion decays of the neutral kaon
Abstract
The NA48 experiment in CERN has performed a new measurement of direct CP violation, based on data taken in 1998-1999 by simultaneously collecting $K_L$ and $K_S$ decays into $\pi^0 \pi^0$ and $\pi^+ \pi^-$. The number of the collected $K_L \rightarrow \pi^0 \pi^0$ decays, defining the statistical error of the new result, is more than $2.9 \times 10^6$.
