Dear Workshop attendee, we look forward to welcoming you soon at Arcetri for the "apeNEXT:Computational Challenges and First Physics Results" workshop. In the following some practical information to help you enjoy the meeting. -) the workshop starts on Thursday, February 8th at 8:30 (registration starts) and ends on Saturday February 10th around noon. A light lunch will be available on Saturday after the Workshop ends. -) A Wi-Fi connection will be available for all participants. Details on how to connect will be provided on site. -) We regret that the conference fee (150 Euro) can only be paid in cash. -) The conference dinner will be on Friday (February 9th) at 08:00 pm at "Ristorante Omero al Pian dei Giullari" (walking distance from the GGI). -) Some additional directions to reach the GGI by bus from the workshop hotels are provided below. 6) In case of trouble you can reach Lucia Lilli at 334 8998639 (NO leading zero). The organizing comittee ******* How to reach the GGI. ************************* Reaching the GGI from the conference hotel by bus will in all cases mean 10 - 15 minutes of walk. The townscape (or rather landscape) is beautiful in the area, so walking is probably a good choice. If you do not feel like walking, the only other viable option is probably getting a taxi cab. If you are at the Hotel Duomo:---> 1) take bus 11 at the junction of Piazza del Duomo and Via dei Martelli. 2) Get off at Via del Gelsomino / Junction Viale del Poggio Imperiale. 3) Proceed on foot uphill (approximately 300 m) on Viale del Poggio Imperiale till you reach the Poggio Imperiale Villa (no way to miss it ...) 4) Go left for about 150 more meters. Busses run every 12 minutes. The bus ride is about 20 min. If you are at the Hotel Classic: ---> In this case no bus route will possibly shorten your walk. 1) Head for the Viale del Poggio Imperiale (ask the reception, it is about 200 metres) 2) Follow points 3) and 4) above. If you are at Hotel Liberty: ---> 1) Take bus 13. The bus stop is about 200 metres from the hotel 2) Get off at Piazzale Galileo 3) Proceed on foot downhill along viale Torricelli, till you reach Viale del Poggio Imperiale (approximately 200 m). 4) Follow points 3) and 4) of the section for Hotel Duomo. Busses run every 15 minutes. The ride is less than 10 minutes. Enjoy your walk!
