Courses

Beppe Nardulli held numerous courses at the University of Bari, covering the main topics in Theoretical Physics. Among these:

  • Foundations of Theoretical Physics
  • Quantum Mechanics
  • Statistical Mechanics
  • Quantum Theories
  • Condensed Matter Physics
  • Theory of Fundamental Interactions
  • General Relativity and Cosmology
  • Applications of Group Theory in Physics

Starting from 1994, he has been the promoter and director of several editions of the Specialization Course in Politics and Technologies of Peace and Disarmament, open to graduate students from different faculties aiming at working in these fields.

Books and notes

He produced notes (in Italian) for the courses:

and the two books, Meccanica Quantistica I and Meccanica Quantistica II (Franco Angeli editore - Milano 2001).

Students

Under his guidance, dozens of students have graduated (M.Sc.) and earned the PhD in Physics, starting their research activity.
He believed in the importance of creating a school, following the example of past scientists like Fermi or his advisor Preparata.

In the same spirit, he wished to found a multidisciplinary institute of advanced study in Bari, aimed at organizing courses on advanced topics. He imagined a center dedicated to the promotion of both scientific progress and peace in the Mediterranean area, through short or medium-long stays, workshops, specialization schools, seminars, conferences and summer schools, in order to provide links and fruitful collaborations between the scientific communities of the Mediterranean and neighboring countries.
To this aim, the rector of the University of Bari entrusted him with the task of writing a proposal for the realization of the project, giving him a delega. His main idea is summarized in this abstract of the project he called Archytas. Unfortunately, he did not have the possibility of completing the project and realizing it.

As an example, Nardulli taugth the following courses in the 2004/2005 edition:

G. Nardulli Proliferazione nucleare (Nuclear proliferation)
G. Nardulli Islamismo radicale (Radical Islamism)
G. Nardulli Conflitti e risorse (Conflicts and resources)
