... obtained her PhD in Physics in Milan. She moved permanently to CERN in 1994 as a research physicist. In 2008, aged just 46 years old, she achieved an enviable milestone in her career when she was elected Spokesperson of the ATLAS Collaboration. She is the first woman ever to lead such a large scientific collaboration.
